I'm very surprised by the fact that this is... book nr 1 written all over again. I do see that there is some greate change at hand, that there is a bigger picture the author wants to get at, but was it really necessary with the exact same setup as in the first book? I actually started mixing up the two male characters because of the tragic childhoods (why, oh why, can no one grow up happily and still turn out sexy?). I'll probably read another couple of books in the series though, to see where it goes, and if the humans ever appear.
